The World's First Image of a Black Hole
What does a black hole look like? Nobody knows because they are... invisible - not even light can escape. But how do we know they exist when we can’t see the black hole or it's interior? To answer these questions astronomers have built a virtual telescope the size of the earth to image and took for first time in history image of the ‘shadow’ of a black hole.
The Africa Millimetre Telescope
Africa is the missing link in the Event Horizon Telescope network. A team of scientists, engineers and developers is trying to connect the dots and place a telescope on the Gamsberg in the Namib dessert.
