Industry partners
Partners form industry that are interested in either supporting the project and/or playing a role in the innovation aspect:
- The largest bank in the country, Bank Windhoek, has signed a support statement for the project, they have hosted the first “fundraising event” in Namibia, and have offered to support the impact investment efforts;
- Lithon Project Consultants have stated that they will provide professional consultancy services for construction of the Africa Millimeter Telescope, as well as its associated infrastructure and social initiatives.
- Law firm Fisher, Quarmby and Pfeiffer, Namibia’s oldest law firm, offer the AMT legal advice.
- KLM, the royal Dutch airline, has signed a support statement and has provided the transport of the mobile planetarium to Namibia twice already;
- The Walvis Bay Corridor Group has signed the statement of support for the AMT and is willing to support the transportation in Namibia (of material), and has furthermore a keen interest in the education and technological spin-off opportunities (green energy, ICT) in the field of astronomy in general;
