Dr. Michael Janßen joins the Department of Astrophysics

The Department of Astrophysics is happy to announce that Dr. Michael Janßen has joined Radboud University on October 1, in the capacity of Assistant Professor and Project Scientist for the Africa Millimetre Telescope.

Michael Janßen is an expert in radio interferometry, calibration and imaging. His scientific interests lie in black hole surroundings, AGNs and feedback, and accretion and jet formation. As a Radboud PhD student in the Event Horizon Telescope group, Michael developed data reduction and synthetic data generation pipelines for the EHT. We welcome Michael back to the Radboud Department of Astrophysics and wish him all the best in his new role as Assistant Professor and Project Scientist for the Africa Millimetre Telescope.
