Visualizing students' learning

The use of tablets in education generates an easily accessible stream of data. Logfiledata can be used to analyse what and when students are doing to reach their learning goals. We use the logfiledata to visualize students progress. Our goal is to support teachers and students with visualizations of the learning progress.

To support students learning I have programmed an android application. With this application students can set their goals for a learning objective before they start working on it. Afterwards, students can see how much and what type of progress they made. This makes it possible for students to set and work towards their own goals. The aim is to support them in monitoring their learning and decision making on what they will focus on to increase their knowledge. The type of progress made by the students is transformed into Moment-by-Moment learning curves.
