Short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for depression: efficacy, predictors, and moderators |
Abstract: |
Low response and high relapse rates are well-known issues in the treatment of depression. In my PhD project, I focus on short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy (STPP) and associated treatment effect modifiers as well as predictors of depression relapse after the end of treatment. I am conducting several individual participant data meta-analyses, which not only provide more precise treatment estimates compared to conventional meta-analyses but also allow for investigating moderators and predictors at the participant level. Knowledge of these factors is crucial to guide treatment selection as well as prevent depression relapse and by this lower the burden of depression. |
