Project description
This PhD project involves a mixed-method study on difficulties in the interaction between Dutch primary care mental health practitioners (POH-GGZ) and Turkish patients, and their effects on patient satisfaction, practitioner credibility, and intention to adhere to recommended treatments. The aim of this study is to arrive at a better understanding of how clashing expectations and views on mental disorders may cause difficulties with general practitioners and POH-GGZ and in turn, to arrive at a better understanding of underutilization and dropout of primary mental health care services by Turkish patients.
