Using a Conversation Analytic approach, this project inductively investigates what signals humans make relevant while interacting with a robot for the first time.

A strong increase in the number of transgender people (especially trans men and young people) has led to a strong increase in the demand for transgender care in the Netherlands. The nature of the demand for care has also changed. Various explanations are given for the increase, but a scientific foundation is still lacking. This projects aims to gain insight into the reasons for the increase and into underlying social processes is desired to achieve a better match between care wishes (from transgender persons) and treatment offerings.

The aim of this project is to identify the impact of digitalization on (para)medical interaction in the context of professional practice, and to provide solutions that can support professionals in the use of these technologies.

In this project it is investigated how uncertainty in gender incongruence and differences in sex development (DSD) is displayed in interaction among healthcare professionals (HCP), among peers (adolescents/parents) and between HCP and adolescents/parents, and what these displays achieve interactionally.
