Tragic events in the news: Representation, perception, and effects
In my PhD project, we investigate how the news media visually portrays violent and tragic events such as homicides, accidents, and natural disasters. In addition, we also study how audiences perceive and are (cognitively and emotionally) affected by different types of news photographs and videos.
