Master programme Computing Science - general outline

The Master's programme in Computing Science at the Science Faculty of Radboud University Nijmegen offers three research specialisations embedded in the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (ICIS), and one jointly offered with the institute of Mathematics. The research programmes include courses and a Master's research project, which are an excellent preparation for a career in Computing Science research, but also extremely valuable for jobs outside academia.

Research specialisations

Within the master Computing Science, the following research specialisations are offered:

For students taking the specialisation Data Science, it is possible to combine their master Computing Science with a degree with Artificial Intelligence. Further information about this double degree Master's programme can be found here.

Societal specialisations

As an alternative to the above research programmes, you can take one of the following societal programmes which allow you to apply your science background to a societal theme:

  • Science, Management and Innovation
  • Science in Society

In the first year of these societal specialisations, you will deepen your knowledge of Computing Science by taking compulsory courses in Computing Science as well as courses of the specialisation Data Science or Software Science. In the second year, you will learn to apply your scientific knowledge to real-world issues.

The societal specialisations are jointly offered with the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society (ISIS).
