Description of Neuroscience

Our brain contains many ingenious networks of millions of interconnected neurons. Together, they have a storage capacity and flexibility that far exceed modern supercomputers, or any artificial intelligent system. The Master’s specialisation in Neuroscience aims at unravelling the neurobiological and neurocomputational mechanisms of this fascinating, complex system. You'll study the full spectrum from molecule to man, and from experiment to advanced theory and models.

The specialisation programme comprises four mandatory courses (15 ec) and one specialisation-related internship (ECs may vary, depending on your Master programme). The internship includes practical work and a report. A list of available research departments can be found furtheron in this prospectus.

In case you cannot start in September, but enrol later in the year (with permission of the Examining Board), you start with the research internship and take the mandatory courses at the next available option.

The specialisation is open to students in four Master programmes: Physics, Molecular Life Sciences, Medical biology, and Science. Alle have different entry requirements, different final qualifications and therefore also a slightly different structure and programme requirements.
