Learning trajectories and minors

Bachelor students Biology have the opportunity to choose a learning trajectory and/or a minor. Both are part of the differentiation phase wherein it is encouraged to either broaden your horizon or specialise your current knowledge.

Learning trajectories

In the second part of the Bachelor Biology, you can choose one of seven learning trajectories. Each consists of a set of courses that enables you to specialise in a specific topic. During the general phase, you will take courses from each of the learning trajectories, which can help you to get an idea which learning trajectory will be most interesting for you. Learning trajectories contain two to three* mandatory core courses and several (preferred) electives. A learning trajectory consists of 30 ECTS, and leaves room for you to add-on courses from other learning trajectories.

You may choose from the following learning trajectories:

Biology:

Medical biology (for students from cohort 2018-2019 and later)**:

** Students from earlier cohorts that want to follow this trajectory have to check if this is possible.

Minors

Both the Faculty of Science and other faculties offer a great number of minor programmes that give you the opportunity to explore interests outside your own study programme. An overview of the minor programmes can be found here.
