Study association

The student association for students of Computing and Information Sciences is Thalia. Thalia wants to provide something extra for students by connecting students and staff members and organizing events such as talks, drinks, symposia, study trips and more. Thalia also organizes a book sale before each semester, where students can order their books more easily (often at a discount). More information about this can be found on https://thalia.nu/education/books (members only). Thalia's event committee also organizes special activities for its members, such as paintball, laser gaming, bowling and pool tournaments.

In addition to this, Thalia tries to help students find their way to the job market by organizing lunch lectures where people from various companies give a talk about their work or organization. Thalia has good connections with companies, which may help students find jobs or internships. You can also look on https://thalia.nu/career/vacancies if you're looking for a (part-time) job for during or after your studies.

Thalia is located on the ground floor of the Mercator I building and many members reside there or in the north canteen ("Noordkantine" at the end of the 01 wing of the Huygens building). Students can come here during lunch breaks or at other times to relax and have a sandwich, hang out on the sofas or meet fellow students.

Membership fee for Thalia is € 7,50 a year, or € 30 for your all your years of study.
