Pre-Master's programme

Radboud University’s Faculty of Science offers students from Dutch Universities of Applied Science (i.e. HBO students) a pre-Master’s programme.

The aim of the pre-Master's is to eliminate deficiencies and develop the skills that are needed for this Master's programme. The pre-Master's programme in Chemistry consists of 30 EC for students wishing to enter the Chemistry for Life specialisation and 45 EC for students wishing to enter the Physical Chemistry or Molecular Chemistry specialisation. Most of these courses are taught English.

pre-Master’s programme after 2018-2019

The pre-master's pogrammes that start in September 2019 will be based on a level in Mathematics and Physical Chemistry that exceeds most HBO-programmes. You will have to make sure to take extra mathematics, thermodynamics and kinetics courses during your HBO-education in order to start a pre-master then.

In the present pre-master's programmes these math courses are still incorporated next to the advanced level courses such as quantum mechanics. This implies that the pre-master is tough!

Application and costs pre-Master’s

To be admitted to the pre-Master’s programme you need a Dutch Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a comparable field of science. More information on the costs and application can be found on the website of the Student Affairs Office.
