Study abroad: major or elective courses in semester 2
While you are studying abroad, your fellow students in Nijmegen are not only taking courses from the minor they chose, but are also taking one or two courses (10 EC total) from your own degree programme.*
In the following overview you can see if you need to take these major courses in the second semester of if you can choose one or more electives.

- Themacollege (10 EC) |
With the approval of the Examination Board you can replace the Themacollege (10 EC) with a research course from a foreign university. If your request is approved, you choose 10 EC worth of courses from one of the disciplinary packages. If this does not apply to you, you have to take a Themacollege in the second semester. |

- Interdisciplinair - Antieke wijsbegeerte 2 (5 EC) |
With the approval of the Examination Board you can replace these courses with similar courses in Latin and Greek from a foreign university. If this applies to you, you choose 10 EC worth of courses from one of the disciplinary packages. If this does not apply to you, you have two options: 1. You take the courses Vroegchristelijk Grieks en Latijn (5 EC) en Werkcollege Grieks en Latijn: historiografie (5 EC). 2. You send a request to the Examination Board to ask for permission to replace the courses you missed in the first semester with courses in Latin and Greek from another university (in the Netherlands). |

- Statistiek (5 EC) needs to be replaced by another statistics course, like for example the course Beschrijvende statistiek (SOW- MTB1002) (6 EC) in the second semester. - Van Adam tot Zeus (5 EC) needs to be replaced with the elective De ‘ander’ in de moderne Vlaamse literatuur (5 EC). 1. You choose one of the other B2-electives the degree programme offers in the second semester (Publieksgericht schrijven, Het leren en onderwijzen van Nederlands als tweede taal of Verdieping Psycholinguïstiek). 2. You send a request to the Examination Board to ask for permission to take a B2-literature course from another degree programme (DTC, RTC, ETC or GLTC). |

Please note: Check whether all courses are in the right place in your SVO (study progress overview). If this is not the case, submit a request to the Examination Board in which you indicate which course(s) replace the major course(s) of the first semester.
