Study Abroad minor (40 EC)
Update study abroad minor 1 December 2020 The current global pandemic has brought forth a lot of uncertainties and challenges, also for international travel and study exchanges. In light of these developments and the unpredictability surrounding the pandemic, we have unfortunately decided to cancel all physical study exchanges abroad for the first and second semester of academic year 2020/2021. At this point it is still unclear if the study abroad minor can take place in semester 1 of academic year 2021/2022. Please keep a close eye on this website as well as the website of International Office. Due to the uncertainties with regards to the possibility to study abroad, we would advise you to get familiar with the alternatives you have. You can read more about them here. |
In an increasingly globalized world, it is important to have knowledge of other countries and our position in the world. Studying abroad is not only a good way to acquire new knowledge but also to improve your language skills and to get to know another culture better. A stay abroad also contributes to your personal development, and, as such, can be considered an asset for future employers. The Faculty of Arts has an extensive network of foreign universities and will help you find courses that are relevant for your Bachelor’s programme.
Application and deadlines
If you are interested in registering for a stay abroad, please do so via Osiris. Do this before 1 February (destination outside Europe) or before 1 March (destination in Europe). More information about the procedure can be found here.
Programme outline
During your study abroad minor at a foreign university you will follow courses of 25 EC in total. During this period, you will also follow the course Study abroad: Academia and Society (5 EC) online. You must pass this course to be able to participate in the Think Tank: Study Abroad.
The last 10 EC are earned by participating in a think tank, in which you will conduct research on behalf of a company or institution in a group of six to eight students. You can also choose to do an internship or conduct faculty research.
