Your study start in September!

When you're starting out as a university student, it may be hard to find your way around campus. Here you can find all the information about the study you're majoring in and get familiar with the education systems we use. To help you on your way, we've listed the most important information you need as a new FPTR student down below.

The orientation week takes place from 22 August until 29 August. So make sure you have nothing else planned that week!

Our faculty

Within Radboud University, the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies has a special place. At this faculty, students are taught to reflect on philosophical and ideological issues. We train students to become critical and engaged academics, who can take up responsible positions in society with a conscious vision of science and society.

RU Ready?

RU Ready?

As a new student, you receive a lot of new information which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. That's why we'd like you to introduce you to some things beforehand, such as the systems we use at Radboud University, the facilities that we offer on campus and insight student life in Nijmegen.

Measures against coronavirus

On the page linked below you'll find the current measures against the coronavirus that Radboud University is taking as well as the last news on this topic.

Campus tour

Due to the coronavirus, it's hard to give you a tour around campus or to show you the faculty in person. However, it's understandable that you're curious about where you'll be studying in the near future. In this video, current student Froukje will give you a tour so you can get a first impression of your new faculty!

Practical information

To follow our education programme, it's important that you own computer, preferably a laptop that meets the following prerequisites:

  • Windows 10
  • Intel i5 processor (or similar: AMD ryzen 5)
  • 8 GB intern memory
  • 256 GB SSD storage
  • Internet connection
  • 13 inch display

It's possible to buy devices via www.surfspot.nl, a non-profit ICT-webshop that offers discounts to students. Of course you are also free to get your devices elsewhere. Students can also download the internet security package F-secure via SURFspot for free.

In case it's financially impossible for you to buy the needed devices, get in contact with stip@ftr.ru.nl and we'll figure out a solution together.
