Man and the Environment

Challenges and sustainable solutions is the motto of the learning trajectory Man and the Environment. The learning trajectory provides you with the knowledge to understand, and the skills to analyse, relationships between man and the environment. After having completed the trajectory, you are able to assess environmental problems and evaluate with sustainable solutions. The trajectory prepares you for a job in environmental, water and nature research and management, in particular as a scientist (at universities, research institutes or industries), consultant, manager or policy maker at local, regional and (inter-)national agencies, or a researcher/advisor at non-governmental organisations.

You will be prepared for this type of job by learning to understand the mechanisms underlying environmental issues, and to analyse environmental problems and evaluate sustainable solutions using the universal cause-effect chain (drivers, pressures, state, impact, response).

Coordinator: Jan Hendriks
