Contents

German is seen as one of the most important world languages. Knowledge of German and of Germany is important for business, government, for many working environments in the border region and often also in the scientific world. German culture and the German language are at the heart of this package. This means that German culture is highlighted from both a cultural and historical perspective as well as from a linguistic perspective. Students increase their knowledge of the German language and gain insight into various aspects of German-speaking culture and society in the past and the present.

A whole range of courses are also open to Lingua Receptiva students (“luistertaal”). Lingua Receptiva means that students who have sufficient receptive knowledge of German to be able to read texts and follow lectures, but whose speaking and writing skills in German might not be good enough, are given the opportunity to do the assignments, presentations, (oral) exams and assignments in Dutch or English. So for example, in case of an exam the questions are in German but you may answer them in Dutch or English.
