Objectives and exit qualifications for the first year of the degree programme
The first year of the Bachelor's programme has an orientative, indicative and selective function. During the first year, you will become more familiar with the programme as a whole, as it represents the rest of the study. This year gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the programme and determine whether it meets your interests and capabilities. After this first year, you can decide whether to continue with this programme or choose a different programme. The study advice you will receive at the end of the year will help you make your decision. This represents the indicative function of the first year and the study advice is binding.
The Bachelor's programme also has a selective function, which is two-fold: you will determine whether this programme is suitable in terms of your skills and interests and your suitability will also be assessed based on your academic results. These will be evaluated in light of your motivation, study approach and personal circumstances. The results you obtain during the first year for exams, papers and other assignments will help to determine your suitability for this programme and your likelihood of passing the CIS Bachelor’s exam within the specified timeframe.
After the first year, you will have gained a basic understanding of the programme material, as well as the necessary skills and insights in the field of international business communication. This includes interaction in a foreign language and communication and culture in the context of international organisations. You will also have gained a deeper understanding of several general courses that supplement your programme.
