Study Programme Specialization Art and Visual Culture

The study programme Art and Visual Culture  is an advanced programme for highly qualified students interested in the History of Art and Visual Culture.  This track welcomes BA students in art history, visual culture, cultural studies, media studies, or related fields.

The Nijmegen programme offers a tailored trajectory in one of the above fields with a strong theoretical perspective.  The course is object-oriented, which means that students are asked in their research to focus on particular art works, objects, things or images so as to combine theoretical approaches with concrete research. Traditional art historical practices will be compared to recent developments in visual culture and media studies in global perspective.  The Art and Visual Culture programme is taught by researchers with an international reputation and experience.
