Programme of B3
You are free to make your own choices during the third year. Please note that some courses with similar content rule each other out. (e.g you cannot take Chemometrics and Chemometrics for MLS). On the priority electives page the most relevant choices are given.
Choose courses that you feel best reflect your interests and desired specialization. Do not forget to complete the Writing course, Philosophy and Academic Skills. Below, the specialization courses in chemistry are listed with the period in which they are taught. As are some interesting electives from other fields.
Make sure that you pick the chemistry courses that are relevant for your internship and future master's specialization!
We recommend that you check out other degree programmes as well, because including courses from other disciplines enables you to broaden your programme.
Priority electives
At least 12 ec of your elective space must be filled with priority electives. The full list with priority electives can be found here.
Minor
If you want, you can include a minor in your BSc programme. The first semester of the third year is designated as the minor and exchange semester. A number of faculty minors are offered during this semester, but you can also choose a minor programme from another faculty. You are not obligated to choose a minor during this semester. Instead you can follow regular electives. You may also assemble your own minor. In this case, approval from the Examination Board is needed.
BSc internship
You conclude your Bachelor's programme with a research internship NWI-MOL200A, generally in the fourth quarter. Information on requirements, and how to arrange an internship can be found here in the prospectus.
Check RU personal scheduling page to see if courses are compatible in time. .
