In the online course guides it is not clear which courses are not open for exchange students, so you must always contact us for further guidance. See below our contact details. We are building a new exchange guide and we hope that it will be ready soon.

  • 2 Bachelor's programmes in which we offer a selection of courses in English:

    Mathematics
    Physics & Astronomy

  • all Master's courses in English - check the course guides of the master's programmes

Planning your courses

At our university the academic year is divided into 4 quarters (4 periods of 10 weeks). In general each quarter comprises of 7 weeks of classes/work groups/practicals, 2 weeks for exams and 1 week for resits of an earlier period (Of course this is only relevant for quarter 2, 3 and 4). The study load for a full quarter is 15 EC and for a full year 60 EC.

Some courses are semester courses, they will run over 2 quarters with an exam at the end of the 2nd quarter. If this is the case the information will show in the course description.

For an overview of the academic year, including (exam) periods and holidays, view the Academic Year Schedule 2022-2023 for the Faculty of Science. The Academic Year Schedule for the entire university can be found here.
