Preface 2022-2023

The Faculty of Social Sciences offers a wide range of English-taught courses for international exchange students. As an exchange student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, you are welcome to select all available courses from this course catalog, so not only courses from your programme at home and you apply for them through your Learning Agreement.

You can find an overview of the courses in the course catalog and by clicking on the course name you can find a description of the content of the course.
The overview also contains information on whether the course has entry requirements and/or a limited number of places due to capacity.
Moreover, courses have different levels. The abbreviation B (B1, B2, B3) can tell you whether the course is taught at a bachelor’s level and what year, and the abbreviation MA indicates that it is a Master’s level.

The overview also indicates when the course will be taught. Semester 1 (autumn semester) consists of period 1 and period 2 and semester 2 (spring semester) consists of period 3 and period 4.

The Faculty of Social Sciences offers the courses from the following study departments:

  • Anthropology and Development Studies
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Communication Science
  • Gender Studies
  • Pedagogical and Educational Science
  • Psychology
  • Sociology

When you find a course that might be interesting for you, please keep the following in mind:

  • Click on the course to read the course description and the requirements. Should you not meet the requirements, you will not be allowed to take part in the course.
  • Make sure you select a course from the correct level, i.e. Bachelor’s or Master’s.
  • Check the dates when it will be taught and make sure it takes place in the semester you want to do your exchange.

By putting the course on the Learning Agreement that you should upload in Osiris, you can indicate that you want to take part in the course.
If you meet the entry requirements and there are enough places available, we will register you for the course.

You are also allowed to take a maximum of two exchange courses at another faculty. We will ask permission for you to take those courses, so there is no need to contact those faculties yourself. Please note that for some courses the Faculty of Arts only accepts exchange students that have an official IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, or TOEIC certificate with English at C1-level and exchange students from English-speaking countries.

For further information on your Learning Agreements please contact our international mobility coordinators:
