Study association
Babylon is the study association for the Communication and Information Studies programme (CIS). The association is open to all CIS students Bachelor and Master and offers both academic and leisure activities. Babylon currently has around 500 members, 80 of which are active in various committees.
Babylon organises study-related activities such as company visits, workshops, an annual congress, and an annual international study trip. Babylon is also involved in information activities for secondary school students, such as the Student-for-a-Day programme and orientation days.
In addition, Babylon organises leisure activities such as parties, monthly drinks, pub crawls and an annual ski trip. In mid-March, the association celebrates its anniversary by organising a whole week with all sorts of fun activities like lasertag, a poolparty, a ‘cantus’ or a Dinner Rouler. These activities allow you to mix and mingle with fellow students.
Babylon has its own association magazine, the Babylon Magazine, which covers important issues about the communication sector, the study association and student life. Members are informed of administrative and secretarial updates as well as upcoming events via the association's website, social media and the monthly newsletter ‘Babbel’.
In short, Babylon is a versatile study association that strikes the perfect balance between studying and leisure. Membership costs fourteen euros per year. In return, members receive a discount on textbooks, on activities hosted by Babylon and they get a free subscription to the Babylon Magazine. Babylon also gives you the opportunity to work on your personal and professional development as an active member in one or multiple committees.
