Financial Economics
The second year: broadening, deepening, specialisation and integration In the first semester of the second year, which has a joint teaching programme, the focus will be on broadening and deepening your knowledge and skills. Broadening your knowledge of the international economy, corporate finance and the role of institutions in the economy, for example. In addition, your knowledge is deepened through greater insight into the history of economic thinking and a focus on methodological knowledge and skills. As from the second semester, this deepening of knowledge and skills will be achieved through specialisation in one of the following areas: Business Economics, Financial Economics, International Economics and Policy, International Economics and Management en International Economics and Business. The integration and application of knowledge and skills takes place in the projects and courses of the various specialisations. In the Econometrics course, attention will also be given to research methods.
Financial Economics
Experts in trade, whether it be trade in goods, stocks or foreign currency, all studied financial economics. You will study financial products sold by banks and insurers as well as how the financial markets functions and what risk management entails. Whether you have to advise governments or companies about financial products, you will be able to produce information regarding returns-on-investments, costs and risks.
