Ecology
The Ecology learning trajectory provides students with a broad knowledge base in animal and/or plant ecology. Students will obtain insight into key biotic and abiotic drivers of populations and species assemblages. Upon finishing the Ecology trajectory, students are able to interpret ecological field data as well as design and perform ecological experiments and apply the appropriate statistical tools. They can interpret such experiments in order to gain an understanding of the presence of a given species, its future population development in an ecological and evolutionary context and how management may favour certain communities.
Central for the Ecology trajectory are the compulsory core courses Animal Ecology, Applied Ecology, and Ecophysiology of Plants. In addition, students may choose courses from related disciplines to broaden their insight.
