Study association

The study association for students of Computing and Information Sciences is Thalia. Thalia wants to provide something extra for students by connecting students and staff members and organizing events such as talks, drinks, symposia, study trips and more. Thalia also offers discounts for books used during the study. More information about this can be found on https://thalia.nu/education/books (members only).

Apart from the serious side of the association, Thalia organizes informal activities for its members, such as paintball, laser gaming, bowling and a Thalia weekend. Activities, both formal and informal, can be found at https://thalia.nu/events/. These activities are organised by committees and societies, of which more can be found at https://thalia.nu/association/committees/ and https://thalia.nu/association/societies/ .

In addition to this, Thalia tries to help students find their way to the job market by organizing lunch lectures, for example, where people from various companies give a talk about their work or organization. Thalia has good connections with companies, which helps students find jobs or internships. You can also look on https://thalia.nu/career/vacancies if you're looking for a (part-time) job for during or after your studies.

Thalia is located on the ground floor of the Mercator I building and many members reside there. Students can come here any time of the day to do homework, relax on the sofas or meet fellow students.

Membership fee for Thalia is € 7,50 a year, or € 30 for your complete study.
