Elective courses:

Students have in total 24EC free space in their curriculum for elective courses.

Track 1: 12EC in year 1 and 12EC in year 2

Track 2: 12EC in year 1 and 12EC in year 2

Track 3: 6EC in year 1 and 18EC in year 2

Students have to apply for approval for elective courses by the examination board. For more information on the procedure see here. Please be aware that a smart way to fill your free elective space may be to follow a specialization course of one of the other two tracks. To give you some inspiration, please have a look at the following list of courses (pdf, 113 kB) that previous students have followed as elective course. You will see that following a course outside our faculty, university, or country is within reach.

Performing an external internship of 6EC or 12EC as part of the free elective space is a possibility. For more information on internships, please contact the programme director. For a list of internships that have been performed by previous students see here (pdf, 103 kB).

The programme director is more than willing to discuss your ideas with respect to your free electives. So please do not hesitate to send him an email: Jochem.tolsma@ru.nl.
