Centre for Parliamentary History

The Centre for Parliamentary History (CPG) was founded by  F.J.F.M. Duynstee in 1971. The CPG was initially housed at the Faculty of Law, where Duynstee worked as a Professor of Constitutional Law.

The research focus of the CPG is the post-war parliamentary history of the Netherlands and the consecutive governments. The CPG publishes a series of monographs on Parliamentary History of the Netherlands since 1945. At this moment, the CPG is working on the volumes of the period after 1971.

From 1999 onwards research results have also been published in the Yearbook Parliamentary History as well as in various biographies of Dutch politicians.

The CPG has a solid reputation as a centre of expertise on the history of Dutch politics and receives many requests for lectures, articles, and newspaper, radio and television comments. Finally, the CPG participates in the Bachelor and Master educational programs of Radboud University.
