One of Ali's figures from the paper Covert attention allows for continuous control of brain-computer interfaces was chosen as the cover image of the European Journal of Neuroscience (Volume 31, Issue 8; April 2010). Subjects were asked to covertly attend to a target disk that was moving on a circle while fixating at a cross in the center of that circle. The figure shows the distribution of alpha power with respect to 16 divisions. The arrangement of the figures reflects the direction of covert attention, which is clearly correlated with the spatial topography. The alpha power is averaged over all directions and the black dots situated at the back of the head show the locations of the selected sensors.
