Admission requirements

On this page you can find information on the admission requirements for the English-taught Bachelor's programme in Business Administration at Radboud University.

Dutch educational qualifications

If you have obtained or will obtain a VWO diploma or a propaedeutic diploma from a university of applied sciences (HBO-p), then you can be admitted if you meet the following requirements:

  • VWO diploma of the profiles Economics & Society, Nature & Technology and Nature & Health is accepted for direct admission. A VWO diploma of the profile Culture & Society is accepted for direct admission only if Mathematics A or B has been concluded with a satisfactory mark. Should you not take Mathematics A or B, then you are conditionally admissible and need to do a CCVX testBoswell-Bèta testOMPT-A test, or OMPT-B test in Mathematics A or B;
  • an HBO-p is accepted if a certificate of a CCVX testBoswell-Bèta test or OMPT test in Mathematics A or B has been obtained, with a satisfactory mark. An English language certificate is not required when the first year at the university of applied sciences has been completely in English.
  • you do not have to obtain an English language certificate if you obtain (or will obtain) a VWO diploma (but should you have one, you could include it when applying).

International educational qualifications

If you have completed or will complete a study programme outside of the Netherlands, then your previous education will be assessed on an individual basis to determine whether it is of sufficient level. This will be done both by the Admission Office and by the faculty. If the level is sufficient, you could be directly admissible or additional conditions may apply (such as taking an English or Mathematics test). For accepted English tests, please see below. If you obtained a German, French, or Belgian diploma, a diploma from Luxembourg, the UK or US, an International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate, please download the diploma-specific admission requirements (pdf, 84 kB) to check whether you can be admitted directly or have to take an additional test. English Language requirements

Your level of English needs to be sufficient in order for you to succeed in the programme. For you to be able to prove that your English is sufficient you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • obtained a Dutch VWO diploma;
  • obtained a German Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife, including Grundkurs or Leistungskurs Englisch in the Abitur;
  • obtained an International Baccalaureate diploma;
  • obtained a European Baccalaureate diploma, in which the course English Language 2 or 1 was taken;
  • obtained a diploma in which English was part of the final examinations from European countries mentioned in the Proving proficiency in the English language section of  diploma-specific admission requirements (pdf, 84 kB).
  • obtained a diploma equivalent to, or higher than, the Dutch VWO level by completing education at an institution in Australia, Canada (with the exception of Quebec), New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America, where the language of instruction is English.

If you do not meet one of the conditions mentioned above, you will need to take one of the following exams in order to fulfill the admission criteria (all certificates may not be older than two years):

  • obtain an IELTS Academic certificate with a result of at least 6.0 on the overall band and scores of at least 6.0 on all four sub-bands;
  • obtain a TOEFL iBT certificate with a total score of at least 80 and scores of at least 20 on all four parts;
  • obtain a Cambridge C1 Advanced Certificate (formerly known as CAE) with a mark of at least C;
  • obtain a Cambridge C2 proficiency Certificate (formerly known as CPE) with a mark of at least C.

Note: in case you are intending to study two Bachelor’s programmes at the same time please always contact the student advisor for both programmes first.
