Neuromuscular Diseases
Neuromuscular disorders are diseases that affect the muscles and/or the nerves that innervate those muscles. There are approximately 600 different known neuromuscular disorders, and approximately 200.00 patients are affected in the Netherlands. Our group mainly focuses on research regarding facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD), myotonic dystrophy (DM), neuralgic amyotrophy (NA), inclusion body Myositis (IBM), and congenital myopathies.
