Covariation of mood and brain activitiy. Integration of subjective self-report data with quantitative EEG measures
Miroslaw Wyczesany investigated how the mood or emotional state as declared by subjects was related to spatiotemporal patterns of brain activity. Spectral power EEG methods and the Laterality Coefficient measures were applied to determine how the cortical activity co-varied with on-going mood. The research was done in both healthy as well as mood disorder subjects to determine differences between these two groups. These results are important for better treating patients with a mood disorder.
