On the Analysis of Layer-specific FMRI

How far can zoom in on the brain in action? The part of the brain where all computations are being performed, the grey matter, is made up of several different layers. Because these layers either send or receive information we can learn a lot about the brain if we could investigate these layers. However, the layers are so small that they are barely visible. In this thesis, I developed software to make this possible none the less. With ultra-high resolution functional MRI we investigated if we could better understand the brain by imaging the layers of the grey matter.
