Registration PIE Presenting your science to a lay audience

Picture1

Dear fellow PhD candidates,

As the holidays are approaching, it is almost time to spend some quality time with family and friends: a nice get-together, but also that time of the year where you get asked about your research by an interested relative with absolutely no background knowledge about your research. How do you explain to them what you do?

Join us on Thursday 15th of December for the last PIE of the year: Presenting your Science for a Lay Audience. The event starts at 16:00 and lasts until 17:30 in the Cajal room (02.293) in the Trigon building.

During this PIE, organized together with Janou Hemsing-Salden, one of the trainers from Radboud In'to Languages, we will go over tips and tricks to convey your research and data to the uninitiated. Think not only of family gatherings, but also of interested relatives of patients you work with, the (lay) presentation you give at your thesis defense, or even make your data understandable at a big, international conference.

We recommend that you bring your laptop with one or two slides of data to practice with.

We hope to see many of you on the 15th!

Kind regards,

The Donders PhD Council
