Oskar Veerhoek awarded ODISSEI Microdata Access Grant
Oskar Veerhoek, PhD Candidate and Junior Lecturer in Economics, has been awarded the ODISSEI Microdata Access Grant for his research proposal 'Rising through the Ranks: Firms and Social Mobility'. The annual ODISSEI Microdata Access Grant provides access to exclusive microdata from the Central Bureau of Statistics, which researchers can use to conduct their own statistical research under strict conditions.
In his research, Oskar will study the influence of firm hiring and promotion on the social mobility of individuals. For this, he will analyze the careers of about 450,000 employees in the period from 2014 to 2020.
This makes Oskar one of the few researchers who focuses on the role of companies within social mobility research.
