100th Dies Natalis
The Dies Natalis on 17 October 2023 is a gathering for students, staff and relations in honour of the 100th anniversary of the opening of the university. The programme of this Dies Natalis is inspired by the theme 'a significant impact'.
About the Dies Natalis
On Tuesday 17 October 2023, Radboud University celebrated its 100th Dies Natalis with an academic ceremony and a Eucharist.
The celebration took place from 1:30pm to approximately 4:30pm in Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, in the presence of king Willem-Alexander, at the location where exactly 100 years earlier the festivities surrounding the opening of our university took place.
Prior to the academic session, from 10:00am to 11:30am, a Eucharist was celebrated in the Molenstraatkerk in Nijmegen.
Following the academic session, at about 4:30pm, a reception took place in De Vereeniging.
On the programme
During the academic celebration of the Dies Natalis, there were speeches by, among others, mayor Hubert Bruls of Nijmegen and student Amber Stoelman. We awarded six honorary doctorates, and there were performances by students: Nijmegen Student Orchestra Collegium Musicum Carolinum, the Student Bigband, the Nijmegen Student Choir Alphons Diepenbrock, and campus poets Thijs Kersten and Derk Wijkamp.
