After completing a Master's degree in Molecular Sciences, specializing in Science, Management and Innovation, Lucas van Haastrecht started his career as a consultant at PNO Chemistry. After one and a half years, he made the move to industry by joining Teijin Aramid as a Management Trainee. He now works as Business Development Manager EMEA, focusing on market development for specialty monomers, polymers, and Twaron products, while building new supply chains and strategic partnerships across international markets.
In this session, Lucas will share his career journey from consultancy to business development, discuss what it is like to work in an international business environment, and provide insight into how scientific knowledge can be applied in commercial and strategic roles within industry.
