Together with Radboudumc, Radboud University has created an interactive theater with Crux Creaties. Staff and students have provided input for the script by sharing their stories and experiences so that this production is a true reflection of who we are.
It is partly a theater, where shared stories are acted out on stage by a team of professionals. They wonder aloud how they can create a 'safe space', bridge differences, explore and address power relations. These scenes act as windows into everyday biases, prejudices and behavior. It looks at gender equality and breaking the glass ceiling; physical or psychological limitations that (un)consciously lead to distance from the labor market; construction of barriers when it comes to individuals with different identities [such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, appearance, language and immigrant status as well as other identity-based characteristics.
This workshop offers you the audience, leaders and members of teams, opportunities to address serious issues that you encounter in your campus space, in your classrooms and allows you to engage in some difficult conversations. It seeks to give you the tools to sit with discomfort in a safe space. Do we understand each other? Can we bridge differences? Let’s brainstorm together for strategies that we can use to create a safer, more inclusive campus.
This workshop will be held in English.
After the workshop, there will be a Network session with light refreshments from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The workshop will take place in the Grotius Building, room -1.070.
