On Wednesday, March 25th, two members of the Flash photography club will give a short workshop on smartphone photography.
In this workshop, you'll receive tips on improving photos taken with a smartphone.
In the first part of the evening, we'll explain some basic photography rules, as these also apply when using a smartphone. We'll also cover how to use the camera app on your smartphone.
The following topics will be discussed:
- What are the different lenses on your device?
- Using the standard settings
- Paying attention to the horizon
- When to take a landscape or portrait photo
- Positioning the main subject and focusing on that subject
- Using lines and planes
- Using color
- Rule of thirds
We'll then give tips on printing your photos or transferring them to your PC so you can get creative with them.
After the break, we'll divide the participants into two groups: Android and iPhone users.
We'll then discuss various settings and options available on your smartphone (depending on the device type).
There will also be an opportunity to practice with various settings.
