In this BIS* lecture, Harmen Verboom (from Teia) talks about the opportunities to gain work experience in the ecological sector during your studies. In addition to working at Teia as a part-time job, it is also a great opportunity for recent graduates as a first career step.
Teia is a fast-growing ecological project agency committed to ecology in the Netherlands. For example, through species inventories, quick scans, reports, and ecological guidance for ecological research and engineering agencies.
Every year, new field workers start working on bat and swift research. Thanks to the extensive training program, you can get started even without experience.
As a field worker, you observe locations where bats or swifts may be present. Because these species often live in and around buildings, they are at risk of losing their habitat or roosting places due to spatial interventions such as cavity wall insulation. That is why it is important to identify where they are located before any intervention takes place.
Would you also like to contribute to species conservation and gain work experience in ecology? Then sign up for this lecture! This lecture will be in Dutch.
