BSI symposium Empowering the Young

Thursday 21 November 2024, 9 am - 5 pm

We are thrilled to announce that the BSI symposium "Empowering the Young" will take place on November 21, 2024 at Van der Valk Nijmegen-Lent.

Exploring Solutions: Youth Challenges, Research, and Networking

This event is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by young people today. We will showcase groundbreaking research, feature insights from key societal stakeholders, have round table discussions, poster presentations and of course plenty of networking opportunities!

Exciting Talks and Thought-Provoking Discussions

In the morning, you will experience a diverse range of ‘perspectives on Empowering the Young’ featuring insights from a scientist, a scientist-practitioner, the chair of a youth organization, and contributions from the youth themselves. This variety ensures that all stakeholders, regardless of their background, will find a voice in our interactive discussion that connects science, practice, and society.

Let your voice make a difference

Parallel sessions
You can participate in various parallel sessions in the afternoon and learn about the latest scientific insights. These interactive sessions clearly focus on outreach to society, ensuring that you are not just a passive listener but an active part of the learning process. Think of topics like healthy student life, social media use, mental well-being, sustainability, and educational sciences.

Round table sessions
After a delightful coffee/tea break with again opportunities to meet each other and connect, there are exciting ‘round table’ sessions with participants from different backgrounds (i.e., scientists, professionals from the field, (and representatives of) young people). This is your opportunity to participate in shaping future directions for ‘empowering the young’. You can build a deeper understanding and drive impactful solutions for the younger generation. Don’t miss out!

Poster presentations & demonstrations
For those who are more inclined to take in information instead, poster presentations and demonstrations are a great alternative that we offer. Furthermore, options for networking activities will be offered. So there is something for everyone to enjoy!
