Buddycafé: Pause & Play in good company

Wednesday 11 February 2026, 11 am - 2 pm

When you walk into the Buddy Café, you notice it immediately: you are welcome here. It is a place to take a break and just be yourself. The baklava and a game of Jenga are already waiting for you. Pull up a chair for a tasty treat, a game, a quick chat, or listen to the stories of buddies: Nijmegen residents and newcomers. Buddy to Buddy connects people who have had to leave their country with fellow city or village residents, based on equality and shared interests. At the Buddy Café, you can experience how valuable and surprisingly accessible such a meeting can be.

Buddy to Buddy organises a Buddy Café every month: a meeting place where Nijmegen residents and newcomers come together to take a break, play a game and just be! During the Wellbeing Weeks, we are bringing this Buddy Café to Radboud University. Everyone is welcome and you can just walk in.

At the Buddy Café, you can:

  • share your story or lend a listening ear;
  • play a game (such as Jenga);
  • have a relaxed chat with buddies and students;
  • All this while enjoying a cup of coffee, tea, and a delicious piece of baklava.

Radboud Wellbeing Weeks

This activity is part of the Radboud Wellbeing Weeks. This year's theme is 'Pause, Play, Perform'. From 2 February until 13 February 2026 you can explore this theme in an accessible and creative way during lectures, workshops and other activities.
