With some staff from the Faculty of PTR, we will cook a delicious sustainable meal under the guidance of Hamid Golami, volunteer chef of the House of Compassion. The ingredients are provided by Eet Meerbosch, a beautiful local initiative that links ecological and social goals. People from the House of Compassion serve the meal. We eat together and, while eating, have a few short speeches talking about 100 years of Radboud University (Jurijn de Vos), research on persecuted Jews in Nijmegen (Ria van den Brandt), care farms in the Netherlands (Dries de Moor), and some findings of consortium PARTIGAN (Marthe Derkzen).
From the side of the House of Compassion, there will be a talk about the Verspillingshub, a new project of the House of Compassion, in which surplus food is collected by volunteers from food suppliers and then distributed to Nijmegen social restaurants. There will also be a musical interlude by Ali Forudan. It's all about being together, getting to know each other, being there for each other and helping each other build a socially and ecologically moved world. There is a little something for children.
