Thursday 18 April 2024, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
In this Career to Inspire lecture, Twan Joosten talks about his job as Sustainability Advisor at CWZ.

"My name is Twan Joosten and I am an Advisor Sustainability at the hospital Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis (CWZ). I studied Biology and started this position about 3 years ago. It took me some time to find my way, since I had to find out what I really wanted to do. Luckily, everything turned out fine.

As an advisor in sustainability, my role involves providing (sometimes unwanted) guidance and expertise to the hospital on how to adopt sustainable practices. This includes advising on energy efficiency, waste reduction, renewable resources etc. I help others make informed decisions that balance environmental, social, and economic factors for a more sustainable and resilient hospital.

This involves conducting assessments, developing strategies, implementing initiatives, and measuring progress towards sustainability goals. Furthermore, I am the secretary of the Green Team within the hospital. All in all varied and challenging job!

We also offer internships for students from Faculty of Science. So I hope to see you soon!''
