On Friday 26 May 2023, the Heritages of Hunger research group organizes a symposium called ‘Conveying difficult pasts: theory, history and memory’. During the symposium, we want to evaluate and develope the trajectory of famine and famine memory studies. The event aims to bring many different observations to the fore about the role of (famine) memory in the present-day world. The symposium takes place at the Verzetsmuseum in Amsterdam from 15:00 till 18:00 and is open for everyone.
The symposium is part of the Heritages of Hunger Expert Meeting, organised by Radboud Universiteit, NIOD and Wageningen Universiteit.
