This dissertation deals with smooth complex representations of covering groups of reductive p-adic groups. One of the main results is a formula for the Harish-Chandra mu-function for covering groups, defined using entanglement operators between parabolically induced representations. This result generalizes Silberger’s formula for reductive groups, but the proof is different. In addition, this dissertation contains results concerning the structure of Bernstein blocks for principal series representations of (Brylinski–Deligne) coverings of split reductive p-adic groups.
