CWE symposium: Past, present and future of wetland functioning and restoration: 50-year anniversary of Aquatic Ecology and Environmental Biology at Radboud University

Thursday 30 March 2023, 9:30 am - 5 pm
Presenting the past, present and future of ecological research on wetland ecosystems and discusses opportunities for improved wetland management and restoration, to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of wetland research at Radboud University.

Wetlands are important habitats that host a wide diversity of plant, animal and microbial species, and provide numerous ecosystem services. They play an important role in carbon sequestration and water purification, due to their tight aquatic-terrestrial coupling. However, these ecosystems are severely threatened by anthropogenic impacts such as habitat loss, pollution, drought, and acidification.
