Whether you have lived in the Netherlands for one day or one year, you probably already know that Dutchies love their bikes. And for good reason, it is an efficient and cheap way of travelling around, and in a country as flat as this, it’s easy as…well, as riding a bike.
However, many internationals struggle with this as cycling is not so common in other parts of the world. If you do not know yet how to cycle, you are not alone. The best news is, we are here to help!
On Wednesday 17 May 2023 from 13:30-16:30, Lifeport Welcome Center is organising Cycling Lessons for Internationals. You will learn how to cycle in just 3 hours from the very best: instructors from Radboud Sports Center. No matter your level of experience, whether you are a complete beginner or you just need a refresher, you are welcome to spruce up your skills.
Details
Participation fee is €10.
Language of instruction is English.
It’s best if you bring your own bike. If you do not have one yet, you could buy a bike (second-hand or new) or rent one. Read more about the different options on our pages on Bikes and cycling.
We have a small number of loan bikes available on the day of the event, but these are not very suitable for beginners so it is better if you search for a bike that works for you.
If you know how to cycle but you know someone (partner, child, friends etc.) who doesn’t, they are welcome to register.
There will be a follow-up day on Wednesday 7 June, but you do not have to attend if you do not feel the need. The follow-up lesson is free of charge.
Please sign up before 15 May. Do not postpone it, as there are limited spots available.
