Day-trip to Giethoorn

Saturday 30 September 2023, 8 am - 6:30 pm
Visit the Venice of the North

Come and discover idyllic Giethoorn with us. You and your ‘plus one’ are very welcome to join us on Saturday 30 September.

Giethoorn is a small Dutch village with many canals. Some call it the Venice of the North. The only way of transport is by boat. Would you like to visit this beautiful village together with other expats? Then join us on this day-trip organised by the Lifeport Welcome Center.

What can you expect?
We will depart by bus from the Radboud campus at 8.00. Once in Giethoorn, we will start with a boat tour of the village. During this cruise, the skipper will tell you many interesting facts about the origins and history of the village. He will also point out the most beautiful spots on our route.

We will have lunch together in the afternoon. You will have time to look around Giethoorn yourself. You can go for a walk, hire a smaller boat or immortalise the moment by taking beautiful photos. Around 16:00 we will leave for Nijmegen, arriving on Radboud campus before 18:30.
